Over the last decades, the Lean Management approach, its tools and metodology has started developing in Healthcare sector all over the world, in order to improve quality and efficiency of the service offered to the patients, and trying to optimize the limited amount of resources many time healthcare organizations have. Healthcare profesionals have started including it on their work processes achieving good results.
This workhsop will help to better understand what imply to start a Lean Transformation in a healthcare organization, where to start with, what key aspects should be taken into account and what is the possible sequence of actions could be followed to achieve a successful transformation.

Cristina Fontcuberta Adalid
Cristina is Industrial Engineer specialized in Lean Management field.
She owns a master degree in Healthcare Management and got specialized in Lean Healthcare.
She did a professional training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Harvard, Boston-USA, and participated in the implementation of Lean at diverse areas of the hospital.
She owns the ‘Lean Practitioner’ postgraduate training by the UPC University and the Lean Global Network.
At present, she is an authorized trainer by the Instituto Lean Management, and works on developing lean philosophy across service and healthcare organizations. She also collaborates in Lean projects with other consulting groups.
Dr. Llorenç Mateo Olivares
Dr. Mateo owns a degree in Medicine for Barcelona University. He is specialist in Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology and currently, he is head of service for Traumatology and Orthopaedic surgery, and head of Clinical Area for Locomotive System in Garraf Healthacare Consortium, one of the most successful study case stories in Lean Management implementations in Healthcare, in Catalunya.
He was trained in the Lean Management methodology and has experience in implementing it in the Emergency Area, Surgical Area and Outpatient Area with very successful results.
On November 2015 he was speaker in the Lean Transformation Summit, in Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth, UK.
